These eyes stared at me in the train between Tilburg and the Hague. I took a picture and immediately a young boys voice yelled: “Mom! The man took a picture of me!”. This was answerd by his mom who told him not to bother people in the train.
My opinion is that it is okay to bother people, it’s a social thing, but accept the responce you get.
This story together with the light, which is subtilly very dominant, made it inevitable to make this painting.
