This is actually the only painting I’ve ever sold in a gallery.
While still in art-school I had a small studio where I was able to do things I like without interference of teachers or any other critics. Sometimes I get bored painting on strait square canvasses and do something to break the cycle. This time I prepared a frame with 4 different sized sides and only attached 3 of four corners before applying in the canvas on the frame. This gave the canvas its shape, it became organic, not two dimensional and it got a very nice tension.
The painting on it is inspired by a picture I took thru a front door of an empty house. Dirty window, nice light, dead plant and a hall with a couple closed doors.
This is one of the first times I experienced real painting apart from making an image.
